Natural Google traffic flourishing after six weeks

Written by Lee

Let me take you back to February of this year.

I was asked by a dance school in Worthing of what I could do for them?

The brief was this simple, give the dance school a presence on the web and produce enquiries for the dance lessons offered.

Let me tell you that in just over six weeks I have delivered and then some for The Hollis School of Dance and Drama who are based in Worthing, read on and see for yourself.

A new website, where to start?
Quite literally there was very little in the way of corporate identity to work with; the dance school has got by using simple clip-art to produce promotional material in the past. It is worth stating this has always worked well, class numbers have always been strong and referrals have come from happy parents, but the schools owners wanted to move up a level.

However, we wanted to attract a different audience from the traditional advertising means. We were aware there would be hundreds of local people who were unaware of the dance school, its charm and the dance lessons it has on offer for children and adults alike.

A quick win from Fresh Egg SEO Team
This was literally an SEO project from start to finish, our design and development teams were not involved in the project. With no word of a lie the search engine optimisation team at Fresh Egg have delivered a working site which is scalable and is fully content managed, How?

Wordpress, that’s how. Ultimately, we are SEO’s; although many of the team are multi-skilled, it was not in our remit to build a content management system, this was all about getting results in as short as time as possible and create visibility for a local brand in the digital arena.

Adapting a Wordpress template
The Wordpress template the site is built around was sourced after looking for suitable colour schemes. Don’t forget we had no corporate identity to work with or any design brief. This project was fuelled solely by intuition and our understanding of the target audience. After some searching I found a template we could manipulate and created a site which would be deemed original enough should anyone else be running it.

Enquiries are flourishing
As we draw close to the start of May, the site is generating good numbers of enquiries and the dance school is blossoming nicely which given it is Spring is a nice comparison.

How did I get a site ranked so quickly by Google?
There are a two methods of how the site is now generating traffic via Google, I will elaborate:

  1. Google Local - Google local search has proved immensely beneficial, and yes there are ways to improve your ranking in Google Local. By doing so you can increase your real estate on the front page of Google and therefore double your natural visibility.
  2. Strong organic search in two weeks - Did you say sandbox? Sorry no sandbox here, just healthy search positions because the site is unique and the content is original and it has not flouted the rules by having hordes of false links added to it in an unnatural timeline.
  3. Wordpress Permalink - This was vital to give the pages the newly formed site on-topic page names and relevancy in the eyes of Google.

Putting a business on the map is not always who’s got the biggest budget, with simple thought and application any business can increase presence and attract new business.

Only the beginning for Worthing’s Dance school

As the weeks and months progress so will this new site and I expect search positions to increase further. I have set a schedule for the owners of the Hollis School of Dance and Drama to further expand the range of online services available to patrons of the dance school and future patrons of the dance school.

Have I done anything special?

The simple answer is no. The reality is yes, I have used my years of experience to take an idea and create something special for a small business. If your website is lying dormant and is not creating the leads you crave or that your business requires then talk to us.

We look after large and small businesses alike. In a very short space of time I have delivered a working website which is search engine friendly and is bringing in new leads on a daily basis.
